The Department of Chemistry at SUSTech takes ‘science’ as the core and ‘engineering’ as the complement in its curriculum design so as to provide students with a platform for training in rational thought and scientific experiments. We not only require our students to master solid theoretical knowledge, but more importantly, pay attention to fostering their capacity for scientific inquiry and innovation in order to develop a comprehensive ability to carry out fundamental research, basic research for application and technological management. In our postgraduate programs, we strengthen extensive basic knowledge and interdisciplinary knowledge while creating and encouraging a sound environment for individualized learning and research exploration. We also support students in participating in innovative research projects in which their supervisors can become involved as early as possible, and guide them to publish original thesis of high quality.
