of July 2017, SUSTech has assembled an international high-level faculty team of 449 full-time teachers, giving it a student-teacher ratio of 9.7:1. More than 50% of these teachers graduated from or worked at world's top 100 colleges and universities, including well-known professors with high academic attainments that are active in international academia and a large number of outstanding young and middle-aged teachers introduced and cultivated through independent PI systems. Among them, there are 20 academicians, 48 ‘Thousand Talents Program’ awardees, 17 ‘Changjiang Scholar Scholars’ of the Ministry of Education, 15 winners of the ‘National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars’ and 74 ‘Young Thousand Talents Program’ awardees.
faculty of SUSTech has made great achievements in scientific research and published 40.2 papers on average, which have been cited over 380,000 times in total. In the past five years, more than 14.5 papers have been published on average, which altogether have been cited nearly 100,000 times (sources: Web of Science, MathSciNet and Google Scholar). Nature Index statistics show that 263 high-level papers bearing the name of SUSTech have been published in 68 authoritative journals of natural sciences selected by global scientists, such as Nature, Science and Cell.
